The following are some of my favorite books. Let me know what you think of them.

Aldous Huxley's Brave New World

This is my second favorite of the three classic political dystopia novels. This one is not quite as dark as 1984 and offers an interesting contrast: where 1984 was concerned with a society in which people were intimidated and controlled through fear and the infliction of pain, here people are controlled by inflicting pleasure.

In 1984 Orwell feared those who would keep information from us; here Huxley fears those who would give us so much that we would be reduced to passivity and apathy. This is another book that remains amazingly relevant to today's media intensive society.
