George Orwell's 1984

This is my favorite of the three classic political dystopia novels. 1984 takes square aim at totalitarianism. The book continues to be amazingly relevant today - especially with regard to the privacy and freedoms that we've lost since 9/11 and with respect to the borderline fascist religious right movement that is trying to amend our Constitution.
